How to prepare your dog for a new family member – a cat?
You can often hear people saying that dogs and cats hate each other. Of course it is sometimes true, but it usually depends on so many things. That’s why in case you want to bring a cat into your family, you have to make some preparations.
When it comes to cat and a dog, they can actually get a long, and it is often easier if you bring a dog into your family, than a cat, because cats have the same rules when it comes to their territory.
Think about your dog and his personality. If you know him well, you will be able to make some kind of assessment and decide if a cat is a good choice for your home and a dog. If he acts aggressively when he sees a cat, it is not a good option for you to take one.
Make sure you build a small shelter for your cat, because in case your dog starts chasing her, she needs to find a place where she can hide.
Also what is very important, make sure your dog doesn’t have flies, because you don’t want your new cat to get them as soon as she arrives.
Before you bring a cat, take your dog for a walk, because then he will run and be active, so when he finishes with his daily activities, he will be all worn out.
When you introduce him to his new fur friend, make sure he is on a leash, because you never know how he may react.
If everything goes fine, it means that your dog is ready for a cat and then you don’t have to worry, because soon they will become best friends.
