Pets can make employees happier
According to one study, bringing dogs to work has several benefits on employees. They are under less stress and their satisfaction levels are increased. This study included 550 employees, who were able to bring up to 30 dogs on their job, each day. They did this the whole week. After that time, researchers analyzed the satisfaction and stress levels. They compare them with results of employees who didn’t bring dogs to work.
The results were stunning. Researchers found out that employees who brought their dog to work were under less stress and they were happier. On the other side, employees who were in touch with animals had the same benefits, just a bit lower. Researchers announced that this study proves that pet owners have many benefits when they bring pets to work. When they are under less stress and they are happier, employees have better creativity and motivation for their job.
When dogs were present in the workspace, difference in stress levels and satisfaction, between those days and days when they weren’t in the workspace were huge. Employees had higher job satisfaction than companies’ norms. You should know that stress and poor morale can lead to lower creativity and negative job results.
This is a free way that can help employees and companies. Employees will work better and companies will have more effective employees. Of course, there are many things both, pet owners and companies must do in order to make this a reality. At this moment, some companies, only 5% in the US, allows their employees to bring their pet on job, once a year.
