Pets other than cats and dogs
Dogs and cats are almost synonymous to the word pet. But this shouldn’t let us deny other wonderful pets their due significance. There are a plethora of pets that animal lovers opt for, depending on their budget, space available, love for a particular species and time they can spare for a pet. Moreover expensive pets are also seen as status symbol, thus people invest in exotic foreign pets too.
People who rarely get time at home choose birds or fish. These kinds of pets do not need a lot of attention, feeding them twice a day in enough and one can easily leave them alone. Varieties of talking parrots prove to be excellent companions and fish are perfect as a playmate. These pets are also very pocket friendly, but it also differs according to the variety.
Guinea pigs and rabbits make excellent pet for children, especially guinea pigs. They are very active and playful and at the same time calm and non-trouble makers. They instill the quality of taking care in your children. But don’t be mistaken that they need no grooming, even their body needs to be brushed everyday and nails to be chipped regularly. Its’ always better to keep guinea pigs in pair or else they die earlier because of loneliness. They easily mingle and it’s important for them to feel like a part of the family.
In India cows, goats, hens are also kept as pets, not for the sole reason of business but for the sheer love for these animals.
